Carlo Gavazzi Solid State Relays

New Style SSR's from Carlo Gavazzi  and Anderson-Bolds ~ type RG

CARLO GAVAZZI is proud to announce our newest generation of solid state relays and contactors, the RG Series. This new range of AC and DC solid state switching devices is an ideal solution for switching resistive, slightly inductive and motor loads, thanks to the reduced size per unit – starting at only 17.5mm width, up to 85AAC (15Hp) switching, nominal ratings at 40ºC and high SCCR rating of 100kA.

RGS Solid State Relay: The RGS Series provides the market with the slimmest single phase SSR of its kind, with merely 17.5mm of width. Maximum output voltage is 600VAC with a current rating of 90AAC (with proper heat sink). Both the AC and DC control versions are available covering a wide range of input voltages.

RGC Solid State Contactors: This series offers an integrated heat sink solid state solution with the smallest frame size rating of 20 & 23AAC (£3Hp) in just a 17.5mm width, 30AAC/5Hp (22.5mm wide), 40AAC/7.5Hp (35mm wide) 60AAC/10Hp and 85AAC/15Hp (70mm width). Ratings are specified with a surrounding temperature of 40ºC with derating available up to 80ºC. The RGH Series distinguishes itself from the RGC Series with its higher blocking voltage of 1600Vp and high I2T values, thus making the RGH Series ideal when protection by MCBs is desired.

RGS1D/RGC1D DC Output Solid State Relays: This new series of 1-phase solid state DC relays is primarily intended for switching of strings in photovoltaic panels. The output voltage ratings cover the voltage range of 24 to 1,000VDC. The RGS1D Series is rated up to maximum rating of 25ADC (with proper heatsink), while the RGC1D Series (which is an integrated heat sink solution in a 17.5mm width) is rated up to 15ADC, with a surrounding ambient temperature of 60ºC.

The output power terminals on the RGSRGC and RGH Series can be specified in either a contactor configuration (type ‘E’) or in a solid state relay configuration (type ‘U’). The RG Series solid state relays and contactors are best suited for resistive, slightly inductive and motor loads. Common applications can be found in the HVAC, food and beverage, packaging, plastics, printing, glass and transportation industries. Some of the technical features include:

RGS: 25, 50, 75, 90A solid state relays, all in 17.5mm width
RGC: 20, 23, 30, 40, 60, 85A solid state contactors in 4 widths
RGH: 20, 23, 30, 40, 60A high blocking voltage SSRs in 4 widths
RGC and RGH nominal amperage rating given at 40ºC ambient
AC/DC control voltage, with up to 600VAC line/load rating
Zero crossing or instant-on switching types
Industry leading product widths allowing for panel space savings
Option for screw, box clamp or spring loaded control inputs
Options for high blocking voltage and I2T
100kA UL508 SCCR rating with specified fusing

The RG Series are cUL listed (RGCRGH), UL Recognized and CSA approved (RGS), VDE approved & CE certified.

MDI 35 Amp Mercury Contactors

Anderson-Bolds stocks MDI ( Mercury Displacement Industries ) Mercury Contactors / Relays.

Mercury Displacement Relays / Contactors are ideally suited for use with electric heaters or any other rapid switching application. We also carry the H Series for Inductive Loads. (See Other Blog) The below contactors are for 35 amp loads, single or three phase resistive loads. Part number with a -18 are the same as the below. The -18 was an option for a metal strap in lieu of plastic. The plastic is no longer available so all units are in a sense the -18 units.

Gavazzi Solid State Contactors

Carlo Gavazzi is launching the REC Series 3-phase Solid State Contactors and Reversing Contactors. The REC Series is twenty times more durable than equivalent mechanical contactors and succeeds in handling high frequency switching.

The
REC Series is comprised of a 3-pole non-reversing version with three switched phases or a 3-pole non-reversing and reversing versions with two switched phases. The first solution eliminates direct connection from the power supply to motor, while the second one maintains the same performance level while providing relevant cost reduction. The REC is mechanically compatible with Carlo Gavazzi’s CGT-22 line of bimetallic overload modules, by means of a plastic adapter.

The REC Series is cUL listed as a motor starter and it’s main technical features include:
REC2 / REC3 – direct starting of 3-phase motors up to 5Hp at 480VAC
REC2R – direct starting and reversing of 3-phase motors up to 5Hp at 480VAC
Full load rating at 40°C / 104°F
Instant-on switching
Rated operational voltage up to 600VAC
AC or DC control options
Mechanical contactor resemblance with covered heat sink
Connects to CGT-22 overload module
Control status LED indication
DIN-rail or panel mounting

In addition to competitive pricing, the REC Series assures substantial savings, as it reduces system downtime and maintenance costs. The solid state contactors are provided with a 1,600 Vp blocking voltage option that enhances their surge current ratings.

REC is an electronic contactor intended to replace the tradi- tional mechanical counterpart used to switch three phase motors. The range includes 2 and 3 phase switching ver- sions up to 4kW and 600Vrms. Options with high surge cur- rent and I2t for fusing purposes are also available.

The relay switches instantaneously upon application of the control voltage to emulate mechanical relay operation. A covered heatsink resolves any issues with regards to cables running close to the heatsink and eliminates the need for protective earth cabling. The product can be mounted on DIN-rail or on a panel. Note: Specifications stated at 25°C unless specified.
