American Meter 1813C Regulators

Anderson-Bolds Stocks American Meter Series 1813C Regulators

The Elster American Meter 1800C Series pressure regulators are designed to control natural gas, air, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, propane vapor, and other non-corrosive gases in residential, light commercial, and small industrial applications.

General Information
Outlet pressures between 3.5" W.C. and 2 PSIG are available. Operating temperature range is -20°F to 150°F (-30°C to 65°C). Maximum flow rate is 2500 SCFH (70.8 m3/h).
All models conform to ANSI Code B109.4-1998, and CGA Service-Type Regulator Specification CAN/CGA-6.18-M95.

Features
• Variety of interchangeable orifices and spring ranges
• 90 Degree (Right Angle), 180 Degree (Straight-Flow), or Offset Valve Body
(See photo below)
• Wide range of valve body connection sizes

Options:
Vent Elbow
The regulator vent opening should face downward (6 o'clock) to minimize the chance of blockage from ice and snow. If not possible, a 3/4" NPT plastic, 90° vent elbow (part number 78041P025) and separate protective screen (part number 70400P017) may be screwed into the vent to provide the necessary protection.
Elevation Compensation
The E.C. orifice is recommended for installations where the inlet pressure may vary over a wide range. The E.C. orifice is available in two sizes: 1/8" x 3/16" and 3/16". The capacities of these orifices are the same as the standard orifice of the same size.

Full Capacity Relief Valve Full capacity internal relief valve standard on all models. (See Performance Graphs on page 9)
SplashguardsUV stabilized, weather-resistant, resin device that protects the vent screen from splashes while providing a large external vent opening to keep regulators working properly.
Safety Shutoff Devices Overpressure Shutoff (OPSO) — Operates independently. The OPSO will shut off the gas supply in the event of a serious downstream pressure build-up. These are available in two pressure ranges on the Models 1843C and 1843C-HC.

When the outlet pressure exceeds the OPSO set point, the pressure under the OPSO diaphragm (A) compresses the pressure spring (B) forcing the diaphragm stem (E) upwards and releasing plunger (D). This permits the shut-off spring (F) to force the shut-off disc (G) against the back side of the special double-ended orifice.

Universal Safety Shutoff Assembly (USSA) — USSA protects the downstream piping from both over- and under-pressure conditions by shutting off the gas flow at the inlet side of the regulator orifice. Both Over- and under-pressure shut-off set points are adjustable depending on spring ranges selected.

Process Ovens Over 40 years Old

Safety Updates for Older Ovens.

Most Process ovens made over 40 years ago did not include an excess temperature controller or separate heating element contactors to protect the oven from overheating if the main temperature controller or contactors fail.
Any ovens like this should not be used until this safety equipment is installed.  Failure to install this safety equipment could result in the oven overheating and a fire that could result in oven damage, loss of the product load, building damage and injury to personnel.

A field kit to add the excess temperature controller and separate contractors should be ordered from the MFG.

The excess temperature controller and separate contactors are now standard equipment on all Grieve ovens.  Also standard is a recirculating blower airflow safety switch to shut down the oven heat if the recirculating blower fails.  This is a pressure differential switch that senses the pressure created when the blower wheel is turning.  This switch protects the oven heating elements by preventing them from heating when air is not being recirculated over them.  A field kit for installation of the recirculating blower airflow safety switch should be purchased from the oven MFG.

When installing new safety equipment it can be a good idea to add other new electronics to the oven for better performance.  New electronics could be a digital temperature controller, programmable digital temperature controller, new thermocouples or a digital timer.  Grieve can provide a field kit to add a digital temperature controllers as well as and a field kit for a digital shut down timer. For electric Ovens new elements can be ordered as well along with pin and sleeve disconnect switches for added electrical safety for personnel. We can provide Gas meters for gas ovens to measure gas flow at the oven and shut the oven down in a dangerous situation.

Grieve's field kits include installation instructions, wiring diagram showing items to be removed, wiring diagram showing items to be added and revised wiring diagram for your records.  Our kits will be based on how the ovens were constructed when they left our factory.  If there have been changes made to the oven in the field they will not be included in our revised wiring diagram.

Grieve will provide all parts except for standard wire, conduit and conduit fittings.  These items are better provided in the field as necessary to connect the components being added.  Conduit would only be required for the air flow safety switch as the other items are mounted in the oven control panel.

Please contact Anderson-Bolds with the oven serial number, job # and model number all of which can be found on the name plate of the oven.  We can also provide new wiring schematics for old ovens and instruction manuals.  Grieve and Anderson-Bolds want our products to be operated in the safest manner possible.

ERDCO series 3200 See-Flo Indicator

Anderson-Bolds and ERDCO Flow Meters

ERDCO 3200 See-Flo® Indicator

See-Flo® meters indicate flow rate and permit visual inspection of water, air or other transparent fluids. For general purpose industrial service, See-Flo® meters handle a wide range of process fluids in vertical or horizontal piping runs.

The wedge shape of the meter housing makes See-Flo® practically self-cleaning. Where periodic maintenance might be necessary, the tempered glass window is easily removed and replaced. Because of its large internal cavities this product will not plug up like the old glass tube "rotameters".
Each flowmeter is calibrated to be direct reading for the liquid or gas operating conditions that you specify. Scales with special engineering units and dual units of measure are available.
PLEASE NOTE THE THE SEE_FLO METER NEEDS TO BE ORDERED BASED ON DIRECTION OF FLOW.  Right to Left, Left to Right, Up or Down. The meter will not work properly if ordered incorrectly. Please specify when ordering.
Applications: Transparent Liquid or Gases
Functions: Direct Reading flow rate and Observe fluid condition
Features: Lowest Cost Meter; No power required; Calibrated for application conditions
Materials: Aluminum, brass or 316 stainless steel
Pressure Limit:  200 psig
Temperature Limit: 400ºF (400 requires Viton or EPM O-rings)
Pipe Sizes: 1/2 to 12 inches

Ideal for use with water containing solid particles (up to 1/4" dia.) that clog conventional meters, these flowmeters have a 17-7 PH stainless steel vane inside the flowmeter that moves in proportion to flow rate. There are no floats that could stick and no tubes to clean. Scale is graduated in gallons per minute. Flowmeters have a brass body (unless noted) and EPDM O-rings. Maximum pressure is 200 psi at 70° F. Temperature range is -10° to +400° F.

Below are common Flow meters, but ERDCO and Anderson-Bolds can do many combinations of size, flow, body material, seal material and flow direction.
