Emerson Penberthy SRH (Steam Ring Heaters) are compact, inline units with low pressure drop. Penberthy SRH units inject steam through a ring-shaped opening within an enlargement in the pipeline.
Liquid passes through and around the ring. Heat is introduced by the direct condensation of steam. They provide fast temperature correction noiselessly and without vibration if applied correctly. Because the liquid flow area is unrestricted, pressure drops across the heater are minimized. This will reduce the horsepower requirements for the operating liquid pump. 


Penberthy Model SRH jet pumps are available in inlet and outlet sizes of 1-1⁄2”, 2” and 3” threaded and 6” flanged

The "L" series jets use a liquid motive (usually water) to create the suction through the jet.

Note: Eductors or Jet Pumps need to be sized properly to work properly.  Just the NPT size is not enough for sizing the application.  If the PSI pressure is too low to overcome head pressure the jet will choke, if the GPM flow rate is not sufficient enough to over come the head pressure or suction requirement the jet will choke.

Operation for Penberthy Emerson Liquid Jet Pumps
All Emerson jet pumps operate on the principle of a fluid entraining a second fluid. Although design and construction may vary, this applies to all jet pumps.
All Emerson jet pumps have three common features: inlet, suction and discharge. They function as follows:
Inlet - The operating medium (liquid or steam) under pressure enters the inlet and travels through the nozzle into the suction chamber. The nozzle converts the pressure of the operating medium into a high velocity stream, which passes from the discharge side of the inlet nozzle.
Suction - Pumping action begins when vapor, gases or liquid in the suction chamber are entrained by the high velocity stream emerging from the inlet nozzle, lowering the pressure in the suction chamber. The resulting action causes the liquid, gas or vapor in the suction chamber to flow toward the discharge.
Discharge - The entrained material from the suction system mixes with the operating medium and acquires part of its energy in the parallel section. In the diffuser section, part of the velocity of the mixture is converted to a pressure greater than the suction pressure, but lower than the operating medium pressure.

Providing a practical alternative to more complicated and expensive methods, Penberthy jet pumps offer simple, more cost-effective ways to pump, mix or heat a wide range of liquids and gases used in the process industry. Liquid Motive Eductors are the LL, LM and LH models.

LH series - 15-200 psig (100-1380 kPag) - Head pressure 40 to 80 ft. (12.2-24.4 m)–H2O


LH series - 15-200 psig (100-1380 kPag) - Head pressure 80 ft. (24.4 m) or more–H2O

Gas or Steam motive Eductors are the GL and GH models.
Another method of pumping liquids is to use steam as the motive. This type of jet pump works best
in applications where a minimal amount of infusion of the motive media with the liquid to be transported is required. Quiet operating steam motive jet pumps, like liquid motive pumps, are simply designed with no packing glands and no moving parts to wear out.

Penberthy Models LM, ELL and FL are perfect for many gas pumping operations where more costly and complicated pumps have been used. Imagine being able to use a jet pump to: create a vacuum, evacuate gases from tanks and vessels, scrub a gas to remove contaminants, remove fumes, for gas condensation, drying, distillation, deaeration and more.

Penberthy circulating tank eductors, also known as in-tank mixers, may provide a low cost alternative over other mechanical methods. These units promote more thorough mixing action than either mechanical mixing or air sparging. The flow pattern is easily controlled and provides more complete integration of substances in a wide variety of viscosities and liquids. Penberthy in-tank mixers are inherently non- clogging, and with no moving parts require little or no maintenance. Slurries containing abrasive solids can wear out mechanical mixer blades, involving constant maintenance and process down time.
